Jesus Birthday Date March

i know why but do you?

christmas always on 25th dec when the supposed jesus was born, christmas is meant to celebrate jesus birthday....but why when the parents were traveling on their little donkey was there celebrations going on????? he wasn't born yet so it wasn't for him....... also the birthday is 25th dec but they not quite sure when he died cos easter varies sometimes in march sometimes in april...enough people must have watched the (or as i call it can you put me up for easter) to remember the date

December 25 is almost definitely NOT Jesus' birthday. He was very likely born in the Fall in September of October. December 25th was chosen as a day to honor Jesus because back then, they already had another holiday on December 25th, & they incorporated them together. Look into Mithras & Saturnalia to learn more.
Jesus' probable real birthday was September 23, 3 BCE;
Biblically known as Tishre 15, 3998.

The Gospel According To Oprah - Finding God Without Jesus

If you thought the Gospel was a message of salvation through faith alone in Christ alone, listen to what Oprah's new age philosophy teaches. She believes that the path to being accepted by God and to eternal life and salvation comes from good works; being a good person, being virtuous and being generous. These are how you find favor with God. Notice that Jesus is completely left out of the formula. I like Oprah and I love that she does a lot of good things for a lot of people, but her personal view of religion is not biblical; it is works oriented and regardless of what she says or how she tries to intellectualize it, this is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is only one path and Oprah is wrong telling millions of viewers that there are "many paths to God".

Christianity Today writer LaTonya Taylor declared Oprah as "The Church of O" in which the magazine has concluded that Oprah is now one of the greatest influential spiritual leaders since Billy Graham. In an interview with The Examiner, Mrs. Taylor stated that "Since 1994, when she abandoned traditional talk-show fare for more edifying content, and 1998, when she began 'Change Your Life TV', Oprah's most significant role has become that of spiritual leader. To her audience of more than 22 million mostly female viewers, she has become a postmodern priestess—an icon of church-free spirituality."1 The sentiment was seconded by Marcia Z. Nelson, author of The Gospel According to Oprah.2

Oprah Winfrey and Eckert Tolle just love to tell people that there are dozens of ways to access God. But what about Jesus? Oprah says that He "can't be the only way" to God.3 They both disagree that there is just one way. In fact, they would tell you that there are thousands of different ways that people can access God.

Some believe there are other paths to God, like Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. These religions all seem closely related and in some ways parallel each other, while in other ways they are divergent in theory and practice. For example, in ancient India, there are two philosophical streams of thought, the Shramana religions and the Vedic religion. These two parallel traditions have existed side by side for thousands of years.4 Both Buddhism and Jainism are continuations of Shramana traditions, while modern Hinduism is a continuation of the Vedic tradition. These co-existing traditions have been mutually influential. Then there is Islam. On the Day of Judgment, if a Muslim's good works outweigh his bad ones, and if Allah so wills it, he may be forgiven of all his sins and then enter into Paradise. Therefore, Islam is a religion of salvation by works because it combines man's works with Allah's grace.

These and other world religions, save for Christianity, are "works" related. That is, salvation comes through personal effort and works, something that the Bible does not teach. For example, Buddhism insists that one has to work for salvation oneself and by oneself alone, therefore no one can blame others for their failure to achieve salvation. The Buddhists' salvation depends on the good deeds of a person. Then there is Hinduism, where once again, one attains salvation as per one's own fate and deeds. There are four paths or four yogas to attain salvation: Karma Yoga, which is called the Way of Good Works, the Bhakti Yoga, which is the Way of Love and Faith, The Jnana Yoga, which is the Way of Knowledge, and the Raja Yoga, the Way of Salvation. If any of these chains are broken or works are not perfectly done, then salvation is impossible. All of these stress "works" and so no one can rest assured if they have made it to heaven, or Nirvana, or whatever. Faith doesn't help them at all and their good works may be insufficient. Conversely, the Bible declares "therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ…" (Rom. 5:1).

Now, which would you put your eternal faith and hopes in after you die? Some religion that makes you work for it and would have you hope you did enough to get saved? Or, by "...not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith" (Phil. 3:9)?

I put all my chips on the table and gamble it all, my eternal destiny and life after death, after One Who conquered death and promises us the same victory over death. Plus the added value of peace; of not having to endlessly worry about whether we have done enough or not to be saved. It is absolutely sure and Jesus says that nothing (man, death, etc.) can snatch us out of His hand, nor out of the hand of the Father (John 10:28-29). John 6:37 adds, "All that the Father gives me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."

I am willing to bet my whole life, my eternal life on it, because the stakes are so high that, what if these other paths are the wrong path. They are sincere, but sincerely wrong. I am at peace and can rest assured in Him, because I don't have to worry like a Buddhist or Islamic person to hope I did enough in this life to make it. This Faith in Christ is not a like Hinduism, Islam, & the others, work related religions of the world. It is not a hope-so, but a know-so. Which are you willing to risk your life on; something you hope will work out or something that you know will work out? I choose to push all my chips in on this Hand and "I'm all in", betting on Christ‘s Way. It is not the Gospel according to Oprah.

Jesus said I Am the way, the truth and the life, and there is no other way! He did not say I am one of the ways. Oprah Winfrey and Eckart Tolle are absolutely wrong saying and teaching that there are thousands of ways to God. There are not many paths to God or to heaven, but One Way and One Way alone. John 14:6 is clear, saying "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. " (my emphasis added) Oprah Winfrey interviews and showcases several New Age luminaries.1 She boldly proclaims that there in fact may be millions people finding different ways to God. But when a Christian woman in the audience asks Oprah, "What about Jesus? ", Oprah insists that Jesus "can't possibly be the only way to God"; and the sparks fly! 1 I recommend watching this video clip of Oprah talking about this "many paths" philosophy.1

Although she was raised Baptist, Oprah Winfrey's faith has undergone a significant transformation towards New Age spirituality. Oprah denies the Biblical Gospel of Jesus Christ. People today are asking the way they asked in the early church's day about how can they be saved: "Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved, and thy house" (Acts 16:30-31). There is no other way, no other path, no inward "Christ-centeredness" as Oprah says. In fact, Acts 4:12 is clear about this, saying that "…there is no other name under heaven given of men by which we must be saved." I know about what I believe in and am persuaded to risk my eternity on something I am sure of. These other ways or other paths are not worth risking my eternal destiny on. There is only one path and it goes through Jesus Christ alone.

A lot of movies are getting produced in Tamil Cinema and new actors and actresses are entering the silver screens. Some new actors have made big success in the market and some of them have absolutely failed. Actors like Surya, Ajith, Vijay, Vikram top among the young generation actors making success in every film they act. Lot of good music directors like A.R. Rahman who recently won the Oscars for his music in Slumdog millionaire also makes Tamil Cinema Proud. Other famous music directors include Harris Jeyaraj, G.V. Prakash, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Bharadwaj and Vidyasagar. Good playback singers include S.P.Balachander, Susheela, Unni Krishnan, Hariharan, Chitra, Shankar Mahadevan and lot more.. Lot of technology enhancements has made Tamil Cinema a respected industry in India. Nowadays even technologies are imported from Hollywood. Now the recent movie Endhiram, starring superstar Rajinikanth has technicians from Hollywood working for it. Also, the movie Sulthan – the warrior is the first full animation movie in Tamil directed by his daughter Soundariya Rajinikanth.

Recent movies Yavarum Nalam, Achamundu Achamundu have been hosted in 12th Shangai International film Festival which is also a great pride for Tamil cinema.

So, Tamil Cinema is continuously growing both in quantity and quality with lot of new actors, new actresses, and new technicians making it biggest film industry in South India.

The Top Ten Lies Blockbuster Video Tells Their Customers

Written by tatar job

I worked for Blockbuster Video for the better part of six months. I was used at several different stores as a shift manager, and had to deal with many, many different kinds of customers. While the job was criminally easy at times, I came to despise the job, the corporation, and the customers who gave it money.

As a way of exorcising the demons in my video rental past, I now present my completely unbiased and totally honest list of the ten biggest lies Blockbuster Video tells their customers.

10. "Sorry, I can’t do that"

If you tell a Blockbuster employee to credit something off your account, or change your payment method after he’s already confirmed it, or one of any number of irritating special requests one could possibly make to an employee, he will more than likely tell you that he is sorry, but the computer system will not allow him to do that.

This is untrue.

While Blockbuster still uses a Point of Sale computer system that is literally more than twenty years old (abbreviated, appropriately enough, to "P.O.S."), it still allows the average BB clerk to do pretty much anything that could conceivably need to be done. The reason for his refusal to comply with your request is relatively simple: he is personally angry at your stupidity or dishonesty (keeping a videogame out for six days, then coming back and demanding a refund because it didn’t have an instruction manual) and feels it should not be positively reinforced.

No matter what your problem is, the average BB clerk can, technically, solve it - but the more complicated it is, the less he or she will actually want to. Hypothetically, refusing a customer any sort of service would be a no-no in the world of customer service, but given that an average BB computer looks like some sort of hacker workstation to the average citizen (blue screens, no mice, keys that make a satisfyingly loud noise when they are punched) , the Blockbuster employee is easily able to blame everything he can’t or won’t do on the computer system. Hopefully, the average consumer will not realize the full extend of what the POS system can do, and will have no choice but to accept the employee’s assertion that it is the computer, and not the employee, that is being unhelpful - which leads us straight into number 9.

9. "The computers lock down five minutes before closing time - we can’t do anything about it"

I heard this lie from the coolest manager I ever worked with - a guy with a vanity license plate reading "WOOKIEE" and a son with the middle name "Vader." He hated customers even more than I did, and he used the above lie as a foolproof way of ending the night early. It is, of course, total bullshit, but it’s a damned good lie.

Promising that the computers will automatically lock down sounds absurd enough to be true, and technical enough to dissuade the unwashed masses from questioning it further. Also, the customers are forced to action: if you don’t hurry the fuck up and find a movie that will fit whatever mood you’re in at 1:00 in the morning, the system will shut down and you won’t get anything. The customers leave faster, the store closes earlier (thus preventing possible last-minute robberies), and the staff get to go home sooner. This lie, all things considered, contributes to a win-win-win situation.

8. "Sorry, the restroom is broken"

Seriously, it’s not. The restroom is unhygienic, disused, and probably caked in several layers of bodily fluids, but it is still technically functional. The reason BB staff lock their restrooms and tell customers the plumbing is broken is because the restroom is the one place in the entire store where the staff cannot see you.

As a result of this fact, restrooms are the perfect place to steal shit: during my time at Blockbuster, thieves often grabbed DVDs or videogame hardware, stuffed them into their pants, and entered the bathroom. Inside, they literally had all the time they wanted to remove the numerous security strips and magnetic locks affixed to every piece of merchandise.

One female customer in particular took her baby into the restroom with her and removed the packaging for an Xbox 360 controller, a new DVD copy of Gridiron Gang, and a copy of InStyle before stuffing all three items into her purse. Everyone working the shift that night obviously knew what the woman had done, but we were powerless to stop her thanks to lie number seven:

7. "Theft is bad"

Like many other corporate chains (Target and Wal-mart come to mind), Blockbuster must appear to despise shoplifting in all its shapes and forms, whilst doing pretty much nothing to stop it.

If you stuff eighteen DVDs, a Grand Theft Auto strategy guide, and a box of Red Vines into a backpack and walk out, congratulations - you’ve just committed the perfect crime. Even if the metal detector by the door goes off on your way out, you’re fine. Even if the security camera catches your face, you’re fine. Even if DVDs are literally poking out of your dungarees at the feet and waist, and even if every step you make is punctuated by the loud, repeated clapping of plastic case against plastic case, and even if an employee personally comes up to you and asks to see all the items you are carrying, once you leave the store you’ll still spend the rest of your arrest-free night watching your stolen copy of Red Dawn.

Blockbuster employees are trained not to stop, accuse, or pursue criminals, no matter what. This is partially for legal reasons (if a Blockbuster employee accuses a thief of stealing as per company policy and the thief shoots him, Blockbuster can be held accountable), but partially because Blockbuster doesn’t want to waste its time getting in battles with every two-bit pickpocket in the US. In the same way that videogame companies tend not to crack down on pirates, so too does Blockbuster ignore theft. Literally the only situation in which a Blockbuster employee can take any action against a thief is if the thief confesses to attempting to steal something. The BB theft response system quite literally punishes honesty - if someone admits to having stolen something, the employee is to immediately call the police and wait with the thief until their arrival, at which point said thief will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Yeah, that‘ll fucking teach him to fess up and apologize.

6. "Sorry, we don’t have that movie - I’ll call the other store and check if they have it"

There’s nobody on the other line, dude. Yeah, you saw me look up the phone number for another store, and you probably watched me dial some numbers, but I actually just called my cell phone. You might think I’m talking to another Blockbuster employee over at 19th Avenue and Union Hills, but I’m just speaking over the sound of my voicemail message, making occasional pauses to heighten the realism before disappointedly sighing, hanging up, and pronouncing, "Nah, I guess they don’t have it. Sorry."

If you’d asked for a better movie I probably would have really checked, but you didn’t, so I didn’t.

5. "Yeah, we’re big movie buffs"

While under the employ of the Blockbuster Corporation, I worked at no less than six different stores in the greater Phoenix area. And in all my time, I did not run into a single store manager who had seen any of the following movies:

-City of God

-Fight Club

-The Wild Bunch

-Gone with the Wind

-Citizen Kane

-Casablanca

-THE FUCKING GODFATHER

On my first day, my store manager asked me what my favorite movie was. After responding, "Blade Runner" and watching her nod in faux-understanding, I asked her what her favorite movie was. She replied, "Rumor Has It."

In retrospect, I should have quit right there.

When I later asked her why she hadn’t seen any movies of historical or artistic significance, she used these exact words:

"Gas station attendants don’t need to know how to work an oilrig, do they?"

No, but they do need to know the goddamned difference between unleaded and diesel. Jesus.

4. "No, I won’t write down stuff you say to me and then repost it on the Internet"

"Did you like Terminator 3?" -An employee
"Uh, maybe if I’d never seen Terminator 1 or 2." -Me
"What? You didn’t-"
"You’re talking about comparing a decent action movie to two of the best action movies ever made."
"What’s my favorite action movie? That’s a good question, I’ve never thought about that."
"?I didn’t ask-"
"Probably Blade 2."
"?"

"Is it possible to understand Road House 2 even if I haven’t seen the original?" -A customer

"-Are you from Pakistan?"- 50 year old, balding customer with glasses and a pedo-smile
"I-what?" -Me
"Your ethnicity, are you from Pakistan?"
"Uh, sort of."
"Oh, I thought so. You ever thought about modelling?"
"?What."
"You’ve got a real face for it."
"I-"
"-Yeah, my son in law does it. Makes a pretty good living off it. You’ve got a face for it, I can tell you."
"Uh, if you need anything else, let me-"
"-And you don’t have to be gay to do it, either."
"IFYOUNEEDANYTHINGELSEJUSTLETMEKNOW"

"Is this Final Fantasy Seven? The one with the V, and the two lines?" -An employee

3. "There are no late fees"

Perhaps the biggest marketing move in Blockbuster’s history has been the so-called abolishment of late fees. While, technically, there is no longer a service charge referred to as a "late fee" at any Blockbuster store on the planet, there are plenty of other small fees and price changes to make up for it.

Firstly, rentals themselves are now more expensive than ever: in Arizona, a movie rental costs 5 bucks, and a game rental costs 9. In states like California or New York, I assume some sort of first-born bartering system is used.

Secondly, there is a late fee if you keep a movie a week past its suggested due date: the $1.25 charge is referred to as a "restocking fee," but trust me - it’s a late fee. There is nothing in the process of returning a movie from the night drop to the store shelves that costs even the smallest amount of money; if the $1.25 is truly financing "restocking," I have to wonder where that money is going. I sure as hell didn’t see any of it.

Thirdly, the tradeoff with late fees if that if you keep a movie for a month past its suggested due date, you have to buy it. This is probably the most reasonable aspect of the no late fees policy, and is therefore the one frequently argued against by deadbeats who refuse to return copies of Fast and the Furious 2 within a reasonable period of time.

2. "Blockbuster Online is better than Netflix"

Every Blockbuster Online mailer counts as a coupon for a free instore rental. It’s a pretty good deal, admittedly, but the problem is that it’s a wholly temporary one: while Blockbuster Online’s current monthly fee is pretty much on par with Netflix’s, it won’t stay like that for long.

Blockbuster Online was created solely to steal Netflix’s online rental idea and drive them out of business: as such, if/when Netflix is bankrupted by Blockbuster Online’s Bauman-esque ripoff artistry, Blockbuster Online will raise its prices significantly, and probably get rid of the whole "free instore rental" thing. Thanks to the combination of No Late Fees and the Blockbuster Online free rentals, the BB Corporation is losing money - once their main source of competition is gone, they’ll do whatever necessary to get that cash back.

1. "Yeah, that’s a really good movie"

If there is only one thing you need to know about Blockbuster, it is this: the movie you are renting, or the movie that was suggested to you by an overweight female clerk who has had two husbands, one child, and half a dozen miscarriages, will not be good.

The fault for this does not completely lie on either employee or customer, but weighs equally on both parties.

As mentioned earlier, Blockbuster employees, for the most part, know next to nothing about movies. As such, their recommendations will be at best useless and at worst harmful: whichever new release has the prettiest cover will likely be the one immediately recommended by the manager on duty.

On the other hand, the vast majority of those who frequent the shelves of Blockbuster Video are slobbering, slack-jawed idiots who harbor no true love for cinema, no desire to probe deep questions about life, and no ability to enjoy something that might require the slightest bit of effort. In one respect, I can understand this: these people have worked hard during their day jobs - why shouldn’t be allowed to relax and escape with some harmless Hollywood entertainment?

The problem arises in what they watch. Relax and escape, yeah, but at the very least adopt some goddamned standards. If you’re looking for a comedy, don’t rent Phat Girlz. If you want a drama, don’t get anything with Ben Affleck. And for the love of God, do not rent something just because it is new.

I literally cannot tell you how many people come to Blockbuster on a daily basis, just so they can rent the new releases. Not because they’re interested in them. Not because they look good. Simply because they are new.

And while they spend their time and money on dreck like Behind Enemy Lines II and The Break-Up, these people literally refuse to anything that:

-Was made before 1995

-Comes from a different country, even an English-speaking one

-Might be mentally or emotionally disturbing

-Has subtitles

-Has voice-over narration (I literally talked to a customer who didn’t like any movie that had voice-over narration: that’s like fucking saying you don’t like movies with a number in the title)

Of course, there are always those precious few customers who actually want something different, but they are extremely rare. And by the time they show up, most Blockbuster employees are already burned out: my first few months on the job, I tried to expand people’s movie vocabulary by exposing them to unusual fare like Oldboy, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Brick, and so on, but my efforts were all for naught. The things I recommended to customers were either immediately returned to the shelf once I left their field of vision, or watched on a whim and then endlessly complained about ("the pedophilia stuff in Hard Candy was so gross that I had to turn it off after ten minutes"). It literally gets to the point where, as an employee, you don’t want to share good films with customers because, in the words of one of my old co-workers, "they don’t deserve them."

This attitude snowballs into a general loathing of all Blockbuster customers, and then all consumers, and then all of humanity in general.

Long story short, I was fired from Blockbuster for calling a female customer a "cunt."

She was totally acting like one, though.

Jesus Real Birthday Date

When is the real b-day of Jesus Christ. Think about this its NOT on 25 December . Is it April or Desember ?

When is the real birthday of Jesus Christ ? It is not on 25 Desember, the usual day that we celebrate Christmas every year. I have come to the conclusion that Christ's birhtdate is on a unknown date somewhere in March or April and not on 25 Desember. Israel is in the northern hemisphere and in Desember it almost always snows in Israel, in April it doesnt! In the pictures we see of Christ in the crib it is a definite summer scene, leaves on the trees no one wearing winter clothes and sheep in the field. 25 Desember is the birthdate of the Pagan son-god Mithra and is thus considered as the wrong birthdate of Jesus Christ. Chrismas has become completely commercially orientated. No one stops to think of the real date !

you are absolutely right that December 25 was not Jesus Christ's birthday. minimal research proves that this date was chosen centuries after his death for various other reasons.

you are also right about Christmas being totally commercialized. If you ask the average young child about Christmas all they can tell you about is Santa Clause and what presents they want.

The bottom line is the Bible doesn't give us the exact date so we don't know when it was.

'hog Wild in Punxsutawney

Are they crazy about groundhogs in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania? You betcha. The place is lousy with them. Groundhogs adorn homes and businesses like the Baby Jesus does at Christmastime most other places. It happens we were visiting the “Weather Capital of the World” in December and the good people of “Punxy” really know how to inflate a holiday decoration and park it next to a giant fiberglass woodchuck.

Not counting groundhogs (real, wooden, fiberglass, bronze, or welded metal) the town of Punxsutawney has a population of a bit above 6,700. Legend has it that the name came from a defeated Native American sorcerer who was killed in combat. The ashes of his burnt body turned to sand fleas or “Ponksad” and through these lovely fleas he continued his harassment of man. Ponksad-uteney means “The town of the Sand fleas.” We saw neither flea nor sorcerer on this trip, so we’re assuming the town has rid itself of these pests. Or maybe we were just lucky that the vermin weren’t out and about in December.

Like a lot of folks, we learned about Punxsutawney from the movie “Groundhog Day” which celebrates the town’s annual tradition of yanking a large rodent out of a stump so he can predict the weather. This occurs every February 2nd, right smack between the winter solstice and the spring equinox, in a tradition that dates back to the ancient European holiday of Candlemas. Even though both holidays include springtime predictions, the Europeans had yet to discover camping out, tailgating or shadows of furry prognosticators. All they did was look up to see if it was sunny or cloudy and then, as now, sunshine meant six more weeks of winter.

The first whistle pig was held high above the now famous Gobbler's Knob (heh heh, gobblers, knob) just outside Punxutawney in 1887. It’s doubtful anyone at the time expected this humble knob would become the epicenter of seasonal forecasting. A handful of the top hat bedecked “Inner Circle” of the Groundhog Society are the sole keepers of the long-held secret rituals. Once ensconced amongst the elite few of the circle, an aisle at the local supermarket will bear your name -- a high honor indeed.

Our intention was to stay at the Hotel Punxsutawney, but once David started singing “Welcome to the Hotel Punxsutawney--you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave,” we decided not to chance it. We crossed the street to the Pantall Hotel instead. Here they had a Victorian Ladies Entrance, two cans of snuff on the landing and tract on the hotel desk that was kind enough to inform us that we were “going straight to hell” before we even had a chance to check in. Even though they choose to brag about “ironed sheets“ numerous times on their website, ours were not. Why the hell would you iron sheets anyway? The bed was comfy, the people were nice, and the housekeeper was dressed in Amish attire. We don’t believe it was her snuff on the windowsill, but it may just be that we are ignorant of the ways of the Amish.

The desk clerk seemed genuinely surprised that we might want to eat dinner on a Sunday night. He dubiously suggested the sports bar at the Hotel Punxsutawney as the only open place in town. Oh-Kay. The place was occupied by a few down-on-their-luck patrons eating peanuts off of paper plates (a second one was provided for shells). Our bartender, Christine, assured us that business picked up around eleven once “the hunters came in after drinking all day.“ The menu was basic freezer to deep fryer, but we lucked out with some delicious burgers and chicken wings (sometimes meat avoiding is impossible, but carrots and celery were provided). In Punxy, the wings come as whole large fellas, no “drumettes” here. Hot means hot. And a dozen was WAY too much.

With a little schmoozing, Christine allowed us to view (but not sample, as it was part of a collection of the annual releases) some “Groundhog Brew”-- the beer favorite of most of the Inner Circle. Another local favorite is a “Gobblers Knob” -- Groundhog Brew with brown whiskey. After dinner we shot a few games of pool with the locals and bugged out of there before the drunken hunters came in and shot us because we weren’t wearing day-glow orange.

On the way back to The Pantall, we went for a romantic walk through the Tree Circle in the town square to see the beautifully lit trees decorated by local schools and community groups. Hand in hand, we wondered in the crisp winter air when suddenly a sharp screech broke the silent night. We spun around just in time to see a jolly family of chucks dashing back into their hole on the top of the tree-clock-glockenspiel in front of the Fraternal Order of Eagles lodge across the street. It was ten o’clock.

Breakfast the next day at the hotel restaurant further impressed us with its décor of either very homey or garage sale chic. David’s mug said “Class of 2001." Veronica’s: “Happy Birthday.” The breakfast was hearty, the coffee excellent and the waitress funny and attentive.

With our bellies full, we ventured out to see the town by the light of a grey winter day. Our first stop was the town library where the famous woodchuck himself resides. Punxsutawney Phil and his “wife” Phyllis spend everyday but the big one in their climate controlled den which can be viewed from outside or inside the library.

The next stop was The Wizard’s Workshop and it turned out to be a must-see. The proprietor, Randy “The Wizard“ Rupert, is an ice sculpting champion and now uses the same chainsaw technique on various sized parts of trees. With our usual snarky attitude, we entered past the sign that read “What ‘wood’ you like for Christmas” and “Come see what I saw” expecting a hoot but instead walked into a true master’s den. Oh, the joys we found there. Randy, the only true link we found to the movie, was the guy who taught Bill Murray how to pretend ice sculpt. The angelic ice carving in the movie is his, ditto the electric chainsaw Bill used for the movie. The saw is prominently displayed in the store along with a VCR tape and poster of the celebrated flick. The most charming aspect of the workshop is Randy himself, who jawed with us for quite sometime about his art, the movie and the town itself.

The perfect ending to our trip came with a visit to Gobbler's Knob. Just follow the whistle pig prints up Woodland Avenue to the weather forecasting center of the world. In December, it’s a lonely place--but the impression of the grandeur of the February 2nd celebration is there. The Knob is festooned with signs and art dedicated to the most famous seer of them all, Punxsutawney Phil, including the greeting “Can you believe it… we’re at Gobblers Knob.” There are sculptures of Phil portraying the various diversions he participates in his off season, including motorcycling. Unlike Santa, he does not have career obligations outside of his holy day, so Phil apparently has many hobbies.

As we walked back to the car, we discussed coming back for Groundhog Day, but decided that we saw Punxsutawney in its true form -- small, homey, cheerful, and with a great sense of humor about itself. To a GypsyNester, life doesn’t get better than that.

Watch King Jesus Ministry

Jehovahs Witnesses Why is this important?

Toward the end of his ministry on earth, Jesus foretold the sign of his invisible presence in Kingdom power. (Matthew, chapters 24 and 25) He clearly described that time of his royal presence—and events in fulfillment of prophecy show that he was enthroned as King in the heavens in 1914. He also pointed to a circumstance that would then test the genuineness of our faith. This was with reference to the time when he would go into action as Executioner to destroy the present wicked system during the great tribulation that Jesus said: “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” It was with that in mind that he said: “Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.”—Matthew 24:36, 42.

It is important because, just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be.”—Matthew 24:3-21, 36-39.

Yes, “they took no note.” But you do not have to be like them. You can escape when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven, executing God’s vengeance by everlastingly destroying “those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus.” (2 Thessalonians 1:7, 8) You do not have to be like worldly people whose main interest in life is pleasing self, pursuing a prestigious career or material wealth, with no thought of God. Truly, “their god is their belly.”—Philippians 3:19.

Funny Jesus Video Clips

Really Funny Religious Video?

Ok...well at church service today our pastor played this really funny video bout two guys. The first guy was a Christian and was trying to tell his friend that Jesus was everywhere. The friend said that he didn't see Jesus, and the Christian played him "I kissed a girl" by Katy Perry and he still didn't hear it, but when he listened to it it sang "i kissed jesus and i liked it!"

and then they watched a lord of the rings clip and the democratic convention with little cartoon jesuses popping up all over the screen.

i can't find it on youtube (that's where they had it).

has anyone who's seen this video have the link?!?
Thanks and God Bless!
