Christ Jesus Healing Ministry

What percentage of the healing ministry of Jesus Christ was done through deliverance?

Can someone please help if there is a link that compares healing in its regular sense, with healing by deliveance of some kind of "spirit of infirmity" and gives an accurate comparison of the two. In the ministry of Jesus Id appreciate it.
I asked for an answer to a question... it is a question that an answer exists to regardless of whether you believe in Jesus.

There was a large amount of Jesus ministry that was recorded in the bible.. A percentage of this was said to be done through "deliverance" Im not asking for someone to agree with me that it was genuine, but the least i can expect is an attempt at an answer...

Jesus did not heal anybody. It is a myth.

Nativity plays are among the many popular traditions that are associated with Christmas. For example, in Britain, it is traditional for primary school children to put on a Nativity play at Christmas time.

What is a Nativity Play?

The word 'nativity' is derived from the Latin word 'natal' which means birth.

In its essence, a Nativity Play is one that recreates the scene of the birth of Jesus Christ in the stable. Its actors narrate and enact the details associated with Jesus' birth such as the visit of the shepherds and the three Wise Men. The children play the main roles of Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds and the Wise Men.

St Francis of Assisi and the First Nativity Play

St Francis of Assisi is widely credited with having created the very first Nativity play in Italy around 1223. What prompted St Francis to come up with the idea of bringing to life the entire nativity scene was hard reality. Widespread illiteracy prevented people from reading the Bible for themselves. So, though they were 'Christians', they could not read the Christmas story in the Bible themselves. Another stumbling block was the fact that Latin was the predominant language used for worship services in churches in those days. A language which they didn't understand.

It was to address this lacuna that St Francis came up with a novel, and hitherto unattempted, idea. It wasn't enough to just tell the story of the first Christmas to people. He wanted to show them what it must have been like on the actual night of Jesus' birth. To this end, he set up a nativity scene, complete with live animals, a manger and some hay. He looked to the local villagers to enact the key roles of Mary and Joseph and the Shepherds. Needless to add, the world's first ever Nativity play was an unqualified success.

In the earlier days, it was common to use actual animals, including an ox and donkey and other farm animals (barring pigs) in the Nativity plays. These days it is more common for children to don animal-like costumes or to have animal props.

Cribs and the Nativity Scene

Gradually, as the popularity of nativity plays grew outside of Italy as well, cribs came onto the scene. Cribs were nothing but another depiction of the nativity scene, complete with paper cut-outs or wooden figures of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and Wise Men and farm animals.

In many European countries such as Italy and Malta, the crib forms the central focus of all Christmas decoration. Cribs go back a long way in the city of Naples in Italy. Here, cribs have been used to decorate houses and churches since the 1020s, much before the nativity plays appeared on the scene.

The World's Largest Nativity Crib Scene

Naples in Italy is also the home to the world's largest nativity crib scene. It is located in the 'Museo Nazionale di S. Martino' and features some 162 people, 80 animals, angels, and about 450 other smaller objects.

Malta and Christmas Cribs

Cribs are inherent to Christmas celebrations in Malta. Although initially imported from Italy, the first true Maltese crib is believed to have been made in Malta sometime in 1617. It was prominently displayed in the Dominican Friars Church in Rabat. One of the oldest preserved cribs in Malta is the one that can be seen in St Peter's Monastery in Mdina and which dates back to 1670. It is highly treasured is taken care of by the Benedictine Nuns who reside in that monastery.

Highly Recommended THE MOVIE: F. Scott Fitzgerald is oft-quoted for opining that in American life there are no second acts, so it's with some irony that one of the most famous British figures of the last half of the 20th Century found his second act on our shores. Being a Beatle must be a hell of a thing to have to live up to, and for John Lennon, the key ultimately became to stop trying. Quit ...

Jesus Saves T-shirt

Are there any "Honk if you think Mohammad(PBUH) was Cool" bumper stickers?

I havent seen any and am wondering what muslims would think about such a thing. Is it considered 'sin'?. Do you have something else but similiar. Personlally, when I was a christian, I started to think the whole bumper sticker and Jesus saves t shirts thing, was really ridiculing christianity, and making me feel like jesus was some sort of Logo. kind of like having something that is very serious but treating it like its worthless somewhat. I didnt thhink it a 'sin', just very foolish.
Anyway, would muslims buy such stickers, is it a matter of personal choice, or would such a thing be a 'sin'..

It might be looked at as disrespectful.

Personally, I wouldn't buy it.

for someone else who asked what (PBUH) is - "Peace be upon him". Muslims say that everytime the name of the Prophet is mentioned or "Alayhis Salaam" "On whom be peace" when the name of Jesus, Moses, Abraham or any other Prophet is mentioned.

Jesus Piece Necklace

Why do some Atheists wear religious jewellery for 'fashion'?

I'm not sure if people do it in America, but here in England some of the teenagers wear Rosary beads and those necklaces with crosses on it WITH JESUS ACTUALLY ON THE CROSS, as a fashion statement. Why would somebody do that? If they don't believe in God, and don't want to worship God, and don't care if they disrespect religions or God, and actually MOCK God, why would they want to wear a religious piece of jewellery? I have asked some of the people who did this and they just say that they do it for fashion and they don't believe in God, or care about religion or God. Help me to understand this please.
John: I care because I'm a Christian, and I want to know why people chose to wear religious jewellery, while disrespecting my religion...

They can't mock something they don't believe in. That would contradict their "beliefs." It simply has no meaning to them! They wear what they like.

Jesus Crucifixion Paintings

How can the church of Rome having been founded by the Apostle Paul himself?

have allowed two thousand years of paintings with Jesus impaled through his hands, when we know now that crucifixion and even the shroud of turin shows that crucifixion can only be done by impalement through the wrists?
Sorry I Meant Peter.
Actually it was Peter and Paul because Paul was a Roman citizen.
Doesn't anyone get my point? If Peter was the first Pope then how did that small delicate point get overlooked???

They are artists impressions and not photographs of the actual event?

Jesus Resurrection Scriptures

Which do you choose? Re-birth or resurrection?

Everyday we have choice's to make. Life is one BIG CHOICE! Where death is concerned it seems we have a choice also. Why else is the teaching and so many scriptures. Jesus Christ is the only one who is refferenced with regard to gaining the right to resurrection. His life was a role model for us all to follow. Not simply to keep us in our place, but so we too could gain the same abilities as he!
So which do you choose? And why?
Jesus came back to this earth for a while in a physical body! His resurrection brought him back here. Why would he do that and tell us to keep on loving one another if it wasn't that THIS EARTH is indeed the paradise to come back to!
Freedom to choose? If there is no choice, then why do we suffer?

I understand that this question is aimed at Christians, please pardon my offer of an answer but was prompted by such a well posited question. Please allow me to input some observations from a Buddhist perspective if I may.

You are quite right and I admire your references to choice, Life is continuously facing us with such choices.

Although I do not understand the Christian concept of Resurrection, Buddhists understandably understand the concept of Rebirth as it relates to the Cycle of Life. I understand that the Christian Scriptures refer to Resurrection in the AfterLife at a time known as Judgement Day..please pardon my poor skills in Scripture...if this were so then I imagine that there be no real choice allowed...although I'd also imagine that if Buddhist tradition and Christian Scripture were interpretted similarly then perhaps you're right in your assertions.

As a Buddhist, we have no real choice in Rebirth after the onset of death. Rather we have choices to make during Life which can have positive benefit or consequence after death in reference to Rebirth. This is known to Buddhists as the Law of Karma or Cause and Consequence gives us an awareness of the consequences of poor choices and gives us reason to try to make wise choices.

From a Buddhist perspective then, I would prefer to make the right choices which allow me to become enlightened, thus escaping from Rebirth and the Cycle of Life altogether, these choices are never easy unfortunately and Rebirth is not a choice I would choose if I had to make such a choice...Resurrection, if it were possible in Buddhist tradition would also mean a return to this Relam of existence, meaning that I would choose neither as my purpose is Liberation from the Cycle of Life and not to remain within this period of wandering as it is known to us...

Some thoughts for comparison from a Buddhist....

Jesus Guitar Picks

The Salvation Army included Social Service Centers, or Socials, residential rehabilitation centers for alcoholics. (Socials, now called Adult Rehabilitation Centers, or ARCs, are the part of the Army that picks up donations and sells them in their thrift stores.) Residents typically came to the Social from long years of addiction. If they stayed sober long enough to come and request help, they could join the program, which included a place to stay, regular meals, clothing, medical care, Christian AA meetings, counseling and a job. Their work gave them an income and also kept the Social going.

Some men came for help. Some came to scam the system, wanting "three hots and a cot" and no interference in the way they lived life. The officer-in-charge had the responsibility to keep things moving forward, helping those who sought help, and motivating those pushing for a free ride.

The rehabilitation program required Sunday church attendance. The officer conducted the worship service in the Social's chapel for a congregation of all the men currently in residence-street-wise, mostly middle-aged men, old and weary before their time.

Daddy and Mother's second appointment took them to New Haven, Connecticut, to serve in such a Social. The residents took one look and mistook the young couple for greenhorns. They had no idea Daddy grew up around Socials, the son of an Army officer who eventually headed all the Socials for the Eastern Territory. They also had no idea his father proudly, and frequently, told the story of successfully putting Daddy-while still in grade school-in charge of a Social when an unexpected two-day trip came up. And, finally, they failed to recognize Daddy's blue-twisted steel and tiger-meat constitution.

Believing they had the opportunity to wrest control of the institution away from the supposed greenhorns, the men hatched a plot. On Daddy and Mother's first Sunday, six residents, selected by their peers, challenged their new Captain. Rather than come to church, they stayed in the dormitory on the second floor directly above the chapel. The door to the stairs linking the dormitory and the chapel opened right behind the pulpit

Cued by the opening notes of the first hymn, the wayward six began raising a din to announce their absence and their intention to take control of the Social away from Daddy. They wanted a fight. They believed easy victory was at hand.

Everybody in the room recognized the situation and the odds. However it might turn out, Daddy had to respond to the challenge.

He signaled Mother to take over leading the hymn, turned around and started up the stairs, closing the door behind him. Mother stood in the pulpit, waving her arms and exuding bravado as she led the singing and wondered about Daddy's fate.

The truants jumped Daddy as soon as he reached the top of the stairs. Allowing Daddy to remain by the stairs proved to be the fatal flaw in their plan.

Literally fighting for his life and realizing the impossibility of fighting all of them at once, Daddy blindly grappled to get a grip on one man at a time, then hurl him down the stairs. One by one they flew. As each body crashed into the door behind her, Mother called out, "Louder, men" and increased the vigor of her arm-waving. By the time the last body thundered against the door, the men in the service were braying at the tops of their lungs about the tender love of Jesus and Mother's arms windmilled with a velocity that threatened to take her airborne.

The fight over, Daddy came down the stairs, leaned over the body pile and opened the door. One by one, the men untangled themselves and slunk into the chapel. Last, and a whole lot more than least, came Daddy, obviously ready for whatever came next. As he scanned the chapel for their next move, the stunned roomful of men silently cried "uncle." Against all odds, they had lost the battle.

Daddy resumed the worship service. From that day on, Sunday attendance never fell below 100 per cent.

On We March is her loving, laugh-out-loud, maybe-cry-a-little tribute to her amazingly talented and huge-hearted father-not to say her mother was chopped liver, but a Daddy's girl is a Daddy's girl forever. It's a story of living life with energy and enthusiasm. Overlooking the facts of little money, constant moving and difficult circumstances, Bette and her four siblings all thought they were living a life of privilege. Now that's optimism!
