I have seen a painting of the Lord Jesus' baptism in which the painter made the error of showing 'sprinkling'?

instead of total immersion. Jesus went down into the waters as did those who later came to him and the disciples for baptism. We also remember the occasion when the Ethiopian Eunuch asked to be baptised and went down into the water.

There are two i came up with but i am sure there are others. One is Adrea del Verrocchio 1475 and the other is Piero della Francesca 1448-1450. With these two artists their Baptism of Christ paintings are base on a religious theme and not meant as an accurate portrayal of the event itself but mostly symbolic. I'm sure they were very aware of how the baptism of Jesus played out...there is no error.

It's certainly a hypocricy. It's not the only time this sort of thing has happened either. In Sulawesi, Indonesia, Christians chopped off peoples heads over a newspaper editorial that implied that the church-supported candidate was corrupt, in the Phillipines they looted bookstores and burnt copies of the DaVinci Code, in Egypt thousands of Coptics rioted and turned over cars, in Belfast they set the city on fire on Orange Day last year, and in Russia, Orthodox priests beat people bloody at a gay pride parade.

It is sad to see people making death threats and threatening to burn down the gallery and such because of a chocolate Jesus. Especially since I think the point is rather a good one. We buy and sell millions of chocolate bunnies for Easter, but why is the focus on rabbits?

Do all American Christians hate Muslims?

I know Y!A is not necessarily representative of society, but it freaks me out in a big way that a LOT of hate/falsehood is posted regarding Islam and Muslims. I've lost count of the number of posters who claim Islam demands Muslims kill people of other faiths, Allah is a moon god, Muslims worship the Black Stone, Allah is not the God of Abraham, Moses and Jesus, Allah is wrathful and not forgiving... Is this how the average Christian American sees us?
