Jesus Easter Story Kids

Anyone know of a story about Christ that involves unwrapping an Easter Egg as an illustration?

Some time back, I used the unwrapping of a chocolate Easter egg to illustrate the story of Jesus to a group of children, but can no longer remember how it went... I'm hoping someone out there may be able to help me as I'd love to use it to explain Easter to my kids.

I know one that involves a real egg and the Trinity, but not one with a chocolate egg. (The egg has a shell, a white part, and a yolk, but it's all still one egg. Just like there's God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, but they're all part of the same God)

Jesus Baptism Pictures

I have seen a painting of the Lord Jesus' baptism in which the painter made the error of showing 'sprinkling'?

instead of total immersion. Jesus went down into the waters as did those who later came to him and the disciples for baptism. We also remember the occasion when the Ethiopian Eunuch asked to be baptised and went down into the water.

So my question really is do you know who painted this 'sprinkling' picture?

There are two i came up with but i am sure there are others. One is Adrea del Verrocchio 1475 and the other is Piero della Francesca 1448-1450. With these two artists their Baptism of Christ paintings are base on a religious theme and not meant as an accurate portrayal of the event itself but mostly symbolic. I'm sure they were very aware of how the baptism of Jesus played out...there is no error.

Jesus Walks Video

Kanye West? Please read and answer this 3 questions about him.?

Question # 1:Kanye West has had two #1 Billboard Hot 100: Stronger, Gold Digger(ft. Jamie Foxx), and other 6 Top-Ten Songs. Four Best Rap Song of the Year Grammy Award: Jesus Walks, Diamonds from Sierra Leone, Good Life(ft. T-Pain), Run this Town(ft. Jay-Z, Rhianna). So why he is not one of the Best Rappers of All Time? People currently only say: Eminem, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, 50.

Question # 2: Why people keep saying things like: "I miss the old Kanye" or "We want Kanye back". In his Jesus Walks video someone post: "I'm sad at the end the devil could break him down". What happened to him? Did he sold his soul to the demon?

Question #3: Is DMX christian?

I am not 100% sure, but there is something going on where artists like Kanye West, KiD CuDi, and Beyonce have been romoured to be worshipping the devil or showing satanic symbols.

Jesus Hands Praying

Has anybody excavated beneath the giant praying hands at ORU to be sure it's not the remains of 900 ft. Jesus?

http://www.examiner.com/x-12574-Buffalo-Spirituality-Examiner~y2009m12d15-Oral-Roberts-and-the-900-foot-Jesus

i forgot about the 900 foot jesus, but i remember when the twit said if he didn't raise $8 million or so for his ministries/university years ago that "god was going to call him home". he got the coin, which is sad enough on its own...even sadder that he didn't see the irony in threatening his flock with his being sent to heaven if they didn't come off the cash.

maybe if they dig around under the praying hands they'll find some really big brass balls, cause i tell you, it took a pair to pull that scam off. maybe that's where he kept them.

Jesus Action Figures Joke

Do some christians not even take their religion seriously?

I'm sorry if this offends anyone but I feel the need to share what I saw today at Murdel's(is that how you spell it? its a christian book store) because it made me laugh. So why we were there I was looking around, feeling out of place since I'm not a christian, and I saw a Jesus action figure. No joke, it was an actual barbie sized action figure of jesus (next to that was a virgin mary action figure). I'm just curious as to why a jesus action figure isn't considered blasphemy, and everything else in the store was normal Bibles and christian books.

So, christians what do you think about your savior being a toy, only curious.

I am a Christian and I wouldn't buy such a thing. Children's books and movies maybe..but not an action figure. That's kinda silly.

Jesus Face Chain

One more question: Why are people who kill, rob, whatever, more likely to have a Jesus tattoo or chain...?

than someone who actually follows the Ten Commandments and all that?

If they do these things knowing that they're pretty much going against the face imprinted on their skin, hanging from their neck, do they think that wearing that face will save them?

?
I live in the "hood" with people like this. I've seen the things they do and they claim to be strictly religious. And I've met plenty of them outside of my area, it's a fact.

I think it is more to "look" a certain way. A lot of drug dealers and gangsters do that in Latin American countries like Columbia. I don't really see how they could actually be religious and then justify their actions. That's my best guess, but good question; I've wondered it myself.

Jesus Freaks Martyrs Stories

Can you learn anything from the ones who were martyrs for the Lord?

The reason why I ask this is because although this is a depressing topic, I've been reading up on the people from the past and present who became martyrs for God and also because as unpleasant as this is, I do find quite a bit of stength for my faith from these brave individuals for Jesus. I purchased books entitled, "Voices Of The Faithful," which is a devotional of all the courageous marytrs, Foxe's Book Of Marytrs, and "Jesus Freaks." Right now I started reading a book entitled,"Sister Freaks," written by Rebecca St. James. It's about women who gave up everything in their lives for Christ, it includes the true story of Joan of Arc. I bookmarked The Voice of the Martyrs in my favorites too. Do you find the lessons from marytrdom both heartbreaking but at the same time motivating as well?

Hi sis:)
I remember reading about those that went before us, those that counted even their own lives as nothing compared to Christ. To this day, when I read of brother Stephen's martyrdom, my spirit is strengthened that such simple brothers could lay it all out there for the Lord. These were people who saw the Value of Christ, that He is the One of Preciousness and of Peerless worth.

Many of us may not be physical martyrs, but in this world that is filled with such hatered toward the Lord and those that Love Him, we too experience a measure of it.
One thing that always comes away with me when I read of our brothers and sisters who laid down their lives for the Lord was that they did three things. They lived a life of denying the Self, of taking up their cross daily and of following the Lamb wherever He may go. These ones, like us, had families and friends, but because they were captured by the Lord and fully, yet gradually, consecrated to Him. The physical and psycological parts of our being are no comparison. Denying the Self today is the biggest part of our martyrdom. Too often I want my own way, I want to preserve my face or my image, many of us who profess to love the Lord, but at the first sign of heat, we deny Him before our friends, we do not have a strong testimony before our families and neighbours... The Lord truly needs to overcome in us and strengthen us in this evil day.

Only a heart that loves and has been unveiled to see the timeless value of our Lord will see how small our own lives measure in comparison and we will lay it all down on the alter. The thing about the Lord is that whatever we " loose" in this life.. He replaces it with Himself.. He, who is EVERYTHING that is pure and sweet and lifegiving in this world:)

Ty for asking
May the Lord strengthen the brotherhood all over the earth who are suffering on behalf of the name and testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. May we avail ourselves of the Bountiful supply of the Spirit and of Grace.

Brown Jesus Wig

Trinity-ly Speaking: How do I dress as the holy ghost for Halloween?

Would I dress like Jesus? or would I dress like god? or a combination of all three? Should I wear a long brown wig AND a long white beard, fake blood on my hands and a styrofoam copy of the ten commandments, then maybe just throw a plain white sheet with eyeholes cut out over the top of it all? I'm confused.
MSB: Hmmmm that would cover Jesus and the ghost but I wouldn't want to leave out god, maybe I should carry a lightning bolt, or a hammer, Wait a second, nix the hammer, wrong god.
good thinking Universal pantheist. Should I wear the tutu under the sheet or over it?

I believe you'll need a tutu, and possibly a wand.

Edit: I suggest under the sheet, it would add that special "omph" to the whole ensemble... lol

Jesus Statue Ohio I-75

Ohio I-75 Jesus Statue?

Have you seen the Ohio I-75 Jesus statue? What do you think? Gorgeous or Ghastly?

He's known as "Big Butter Jesus", "MC 62 Foot Jesus" & "Jeeebus".

For those of you who haven't seen the statue, here's an amusing You Tube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq01UYiMyHg

I am a Christian, and I think the statue is hideous.
Heck, I passed it today doing a service call in Monroe, the town where it is located.
I understand their good intentions, but man... kinda screams "graven image", doesn't it? Makes me think of a King Kong/Christ combo rising to life to crush the Hustler store across the highway...

P.S. You forgot "Touchdown Jesus", and there was also a fark.com photoshop contest of it.

LOVELAND - A website purportedly run by Kathleen Folden, the Montana truck driver who destroyed a lithograph using a crowbar at the Loveland Museum/Gallery last year, describes how she bought a crowbar at the Flying J in Cheyenne and asked God if she was "the right person for the job."

Jesus Camp Michael Moore

Hardeep Singh Kohli, Well known English actor, comedian and all round entertainer makes a humorous foray into the world of scientology.

Consumed with curiosity about Scientology and its founder, L Ron Hubbard, Hardeep originally approached the church of scientology but was soundly rejected by the Church as being too much of a comedian and evidently not serious enough.

The producer of the documentary then approachedInternatiobnal Freezone Associatin who passed him on to Rons Orgs in the scientology freezone where the documentary was eventually made.

The scientology freezone is where scientologists who are not part of the official church practice the philosophy as originally developed by the founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Hardeep's parents instilled in him the Sikh perspective that there are many roads to God so, despite widespread criticisms of the Church of Scientology, he happily attempted to investigate its beliefs.

Founded by L Ron Hubbard in the 1950s, Scientology has some high profile celebrity supporters but the church is extremely reluctant to share its secrets.

He is told that the philosophy has many layers, that it's not easy to learn but is worth persevering with because it will improve his life but he is worried about rumors that Scientology and its offshoots use brainwashing. Hardeep finds a mentor to guide him through the principles of their religion, who takes him on a long train journey to a disused children's summer camp building hidden deep in snowy Russia, where the number of followers is growing steadily. Here he received his basic training.

Hardeep reads and reads. The book is simple but bizarre. He understands each individual word, he says, but not what they mean all together. His mentor says he should keep reading. He is being prepared for 'auditing', a process of one-to-one questions and answers, while the person being 'audited' holds a device that, according to devotees, measures the body's stress.

He and his mentor also do role-plays of the one-to-one 'auditing' to see whether they can make the other person react emotionally. The questions and answers are repetitive, simple and, in this weird setting, isolated from his own world, it is starting to make sense.

The 'auditing' session arrives and Hardeep's fears of brainwashing return. Holding on to the 'e-meter', he talks about what he wants to change in his life, puts some of his fears into words, and emerges from the session feeling 'lightheaded'. Did Hardeep find God through the teachings of L Ron Hubbard. 'That would be a tall order in two weeks,' he says.

The documentary follows Hardeep's journey of discovery as he finds out the basic simplicities that scientology teaches and that it is not as the media or critics paint but is a simple and effective way of improving and enjoying one's life.

Jesus Saves Mission Utah

How can I make some friends?

I just moved to Cali from Utah some months back. I really don't have any friends here. In Utah I had a lot of friends, but I graduated High school and so I don't have that going for me, I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) which a lot of people don't like, and I can't go to college yet because I am preparing on a mission before that, and need to save my money for that, but I am not leaving until Oct/Nov. I also don't have a car, so I can't go out. I don't drink, smoke, drugs, premaritals, or anything that my church is against- which is hard to find 18 year olds who aren't into that, and live in my little town. Advice?

My advice is to talk to people like when you are eating at a restaurant or going to see a movie just start a conversation. The person may not talk to you but at least you know you tried.

Jesus Valentine Cards

If God were to make a Valentine's Day card, what would it say?

My guess is:

Jesus loves you.
And you.
And you.
And you.
And you...
etc.

Roses are Red
Violets are blue
You suck at life
But Jesus loves you!
(Even though you don't deserve it you vile, wretched sinner.)
